The largest display of origami medals consists of 9,600 medals and was achieved by 59 World Records, Koriyama Women’s University, Soma Agricultural High School and The Alumni of Sekimoto Elementary School (all Japan) at Fukushima Toyota Crown Arena in Fukushima, Fukushima, Japan, on 11 March 2020.


This attempt is a part of Tokyo 2020 Olympics Torch Runner Selection Memorial Special Project as activities of 59 World Records, which continues to challenge Guinness World Records to support Fukushima's recovery, were highly evaluated. All four group, which participated the attempt, are the Guinness World Records holders.

With the cooperation of a total of 1,000 Fukushima citizens, including project members, they aimed to create this display origami medals with theme of "Connecting Important Bonds" on March 11, the ninth year since the Great East Japan Earthquake.
