Highest altitude road ultra marathon

The highest altitude road ultra marathon is 4,693 m and was organised by Winter Sports Federation Pakistan, Pakistan Air Force, Serena Hotels and Z Adventures (all Pakistan) in Khunjerab Pass, Pakistan, on 21 September 2019.

This event was organised as a way to promote Pakistan as the next big sports tourism destination. The marathon attracted athletes from all over the world and will continue as an annual event. The inaugural event saw Karen Michelsen of Canada win the female ultra marathon with a time of 7 hours, 11 minutes and 43 seconds and Muhammad Siyar of Pakistan win the male marathon with a time of 3 hours, 31 minutes and 33 seconds.
