Most money pledged for a Kickstarter publishing project

"Planet Money T-shirt" by Planet Money (USA) is an innovative project designed to take the consumer on a garment's journey. Each T-shirt made comes with a barcode that when scanned will take the buyer to a webpage with photos of the people who made it – from the cotton growers to the clothes factory workers. The project was successfully funded on 14 May 2013, with total received pledges of $590,807 (£385,076), far surpassing its $50,000 (£32,500) goal.

As of February 2014, the Kickstarter site monitors 13 main project categories. These are: “Art”, “Comics”, “Dance”, “Design”, “Fashion”, “Film & Video”, “Food”, “Games”, “Music”, “Photography”, “Publishing”, “Technology” and “Theater”.
