Verdun (M2h/Blackmill Games, 2015) attempts to accurately recreate the tactical battles of the Western Front at the Battle of Verdun, fought between the Germans and the French from 21 February–18 December 1916. Realistic bullet physics, skill-based weapon handling, massive artillery barrages and a claustrophobic gas-mask experience make the game both educational and terrifying.
The battle took place on the hills north of Verdun-sur-Meuse in north-eastern France and was one of the largest of the First World War.
The game was released on 28 April 2015.
