The highest altitude grand piano performance is 5798.51 m (19,024 ft), and was achieved by Thurzó Zoltán (Romania) in Umling La Pass, Ladakh, India, on 12 June 2024.
Thurzó grew up in a musical family and attempted this record in memory of his mother and grandparents. This is his second time achieving the record, having previously performed at Everest South Base Camp, in June 2022.
