The largest photo mosaic (logo) measures 63.919 m² (688 ft² 2 in²) and was achieved by Hiroshima Peace Smile Project (Japan) in Hiroshima, Hiroshima, Japan on 23 December 2025.

The record attempt was carried out as the culmination of the Hiroshima Peace Smile Project, an initiative planned and led by Shin-Hiroshima Television Corporation (TSS), a local broadcaster based in Hiroshima.

Eighty years have passed since the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. As the number of people who directly experienced those events continues to decline, the project has focused on ensuring that this history is not forgotten, while actively communicating the importance of peace and passing those values on to the next generation.

The mosaic artwork was created using a total of 5,670 photographs, carefully compiled from multiple sources. These included photos collected from people across Hiroshima, images taken by students themselves, and contributions provided by local pop stars who are actively engaged in the Hiroshima community. Through the accumulation of these individual moments, the mosaic came together as a powerful visual expression rooted deeply in the region.
