The most expensive honey sold for £8,700/kg (€10,000/kg) and was achieved by Ahmet Eren Çakır, Centauri Honey (Turkey) in Istanbul, Turkey, on 16 February 2021.
The cave honey is extracted at 2,500 meters above sea level from deep caves and rocks. It’s harvest and availability per year is 10 to 15 kilograms depending on the season. The honey has a bitter taste a dark colour and is strong in Magnesium, Potassium, Phenols, Flavonoids and Antioxidants.
