The largest exposed sandstone monolith in the world is Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, which rises 348 m (1,141 ft 8 in) above the surrounding desert plain in Northern Territory, Australia.
It is 2.5 km (1.5 miles) long and 1.6 km (1 mile) wide.
