Lou Gehrig's glove from his final baseball game on 30 April 1939 was sold for $389,500 (£236,778) at Sotheby's, New York, on 29 September 1999. The bat was part of baseball memorabilia, from the renowned Barry Halper collection - the finest and largest privately owned collection of baseball memorabilia in existence.
