Since making his international debut for Kenya on 15 August 2001, all-rounder Collins Obuya has played One-Day International (ODI) and/or T20 International (T20I) cricket against 30 different national teams: West Indies, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Australia, Zimbabwe, Canada, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bermuda, Scotland, Netherlands, Ireland, New Zealand, England, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Singapore, Namibia, Papua New Guinea, Tanzania, Nepal, St Helena, Malawi, Mali, Rwanda, Lesotho and Botswana.
Obuya has played against 14 different teams since returning to Kenya’s T20I side in 2019. His most recent outing was as opening batter in the Africa Continental Cup final against Uganda in Nairobi on 21 June 2023, which Kenya lost by just one run, despite Obuya’s match top score of 44.
As of 14 November 2023, his 59-match T20I career had produced 1,395 runs (average 31.70) and 25 wickets.
Obuya played the last of his 104 ODIs on 30 January 2014, with 2,044 runs (average 25.55) and 35 wickets to his credit.
Australia’s Shane Warne (4,172) was, as of 14 November 2023, the only player to have scored more international runs than Obuya’s 3,439 without a century. The Kenyan’s highest ODI and T20I scores, respectively, are 98 not out vs. Australia on 13 March 2011 and 96 not out vs. Uganda on 10 June 2023.
