Longest monorail - suspended type

The longest suspended monorail train system is 15.2 km (9.45 miles) and was achieved by Chiba Urban Monorail (Japan) in Chiba, Japan, on 24 March 1999.

The railway initially opened on 20 March 1979 with the first 3.2 km (1.99 miles) of track. The line was expanded until its completion in March 1999.
