The world's longest running reality TV show is The Real World, which first aired on MTV (USA) in May 1992. The series follows the lives of 7 strangers living together for 6 months. The first series was set in New York, USA. The show is currently in its 14th season in San Diego, USA. This 'live soap-opera' style of television, where cameras have no limits, led to numerous others, including Survivor, Big Brother and The Osbournes.
