Kulyash surpassed the previous mark of 105.9 miles per hour (170.4 km/h) by Zdeno Chara (Slovakia) of the Boston Bruins (USA) set during the All-Star Game's Skills Competition in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, on 29 January 2011.
