The highest order NxNxN rotating puzzle is 49x49x49 and was achieved by Preston Alden (USA) in Logan, Utah, USA, on 30 March 2024.
Preston completed this project around his engineering studies. In total it took him around 9 months of hard labor.
The final puzzle is made up of roughly 65 lb (29.48 kg) of PETG plastic (overture filament). Including the bolts and springs it has 13,839 pieces. All unused materials were recycled after the project was finished.
Preston says the worst part was putting on 14,406 stickers one-by-one!
