Andreas is an avid athlete who was inspired to attempt this record after fracturing his right foot. Andreas had to train rigorously in order to safely and efficiently run on only his left foot using crutches. Another challenge Andreas faced was a snowstorm that struck the night before his attempt. He found himself having to shovel an entire lane-length of an athletics track in order to attempt this record title.
