The tallest rideable bicycle is 7.77 m (25 ft 5 in), and was achieved by Nicolas Barrioz and David Peyrou (both France), in Clermont Ferrand, France, on 14 May 2022.

In a pub on November 2019, Nicolas made a bet with one of his best friends to break the record for the tallest rideable bicycle.

The attempt was used as an opportunity to show people and particularly the younger generation what can be possible with less than €1000 (£860) using just a starter tool kit and big dreams.

Nicolas is also part of a non-profit bicycle activism organisation and wanted to promote their ethical and environmental values. The project was also a chance to take up a significant challenge using his previous knowledge of modifying and building motorised and non-motorised vehicles, he wanted to create something bigger than himself.

David rode the bicycle on the day.
